Celeste is a platform game developed by the independent Matt Makes Games studio.
In Celeste, you play the redheaded girl living in a fantastic world. The heroine undertakes the murderous challenge of climbing to the top of a high mountain. We accompany her in a daunting adventure, trying to help her to achieve her goal.
In Celeste, the action is presented in a lateral perspective. The gameplay diagram is based on traversing different levels, of which there are over 300, jumping from platform to platform and bypassing countless traps. Against the background of other productions of this type, the game discussed here stands out due to several unusual gameplay mechanisms, the first of which is the possibility of climbing the walls – so we use not only horizontal but also vertical planes to move on the boards.
The hero can also quickly teleport to short distances and use specific breaches in space-time, present on some maps. The title is characterized by a high level of difficulty, but the matter is somewhat facilitated by sensible control points. It is also worth noting that on particular levels there are swarms of strawberries in the form of strawberries – due to the fact that many of them are well-hidden, the so-called backtracking is compensated by the possibility of gaining them all.
